Who
is Third Wave Travel?
Third Wave Travel is a family-owned Travel Agency (Greek National Tourism
Organisation License Number 04716), established in Athens, Greece by Peter
and Rania Maloucatos.
Why should I use Third Wave Travel?
Third Wave Travel offers a new approach: instead of arranging your trip to
Greece through the intermediary of a travel agent located in your country,
why not benefit from our experience (after all we live here!) and help us
make a customized travel program tailored to your needs.
What services do you offer?
We design travel proposals specially made to fill your needs. After you help
us determine your requirements, we offer you a unique travel proposal tailored
to your preferences and after you make your decision we make your dream happen!
What sort of accommodation do you
use in your travel proposals?
We use selected establishments that meet our criteria. In big cities we usually
suggest big hotel chains which guarantee a high level of services. In the
rest of Greece whenever possible, we prefer first class traditional inns and
small units which meet these standards.
How can I use your site?
The best way would be to start from the Explore
Greece section and take a look at our suggested destinations and
activities, to help you form an initial opinion. The next step would be to
go to the Design Your Tour
section, and use the form to fill-in the required data and tell us of your
preferences and all questions you might have. As soon as we receive this data,
we will e-mail you back a unique travel proposal made just for you. Finally,
you can go to the Booking/Payment
section and fill-in the required data to finalise your reservation.
How
do I make a reservation?
To finalise the reservation for your travel package you will need to make
a 20% deposit (please see the Payment section of the FAQ for details).
After I finalise the reservation,
what documents will I have to show for my reservation and the tour details?
Upon paying the 20% deposit required to finalise your reservation you will
receive immediately an e-mail certifying the exact contents of your travel
package, and the payment you made. Upon the beginning of the tour, you will
receive all relevant documents (receipt for your payment, vouchers and other
printed material).
Do
I need to make an advance payment to finalise my reservation?
Yes. In order to finalise your reservation you will need to make a 20% deposit
of the total package cost.
What are the payment options?
Payment is made in Euro. For the 20% deposit required to finalise your reservation,
you can pay by credit card (in the Booking/Payments
section). The balance of the amount can be paid by credit card or in cash
upon the beginning of your tour, or by Credit Card before the beginning of
the tour, in case you want to.
In case I cancel my reservation can
I get my deposit (or full payment) back?
In case you cancel once the confirmation of your tour has been finalised,
the deposit will be forfeited to offset costs incurred for reserving the tour.
In case a full payment of the total cost has been made before the beginning
of the tour, we will send you the balance (the total cost of the tour minus
the deposit) minus any Bank transfer fees wherever applicable.
Are there any discounts for children?
In many hotels, discounts are offered for children staying on extra beds.
The final travel package price will iclude all discounts wherever applicable.
Third Wave Travel responsibility
Are
your Tours Insured? What are your responsibilities against any problems occuring
during or before a Tour?
THIRD WAVE TRAVEL is insured against Civil Professional Liabilities in accordance
to EU Directive 90/314 concerning organised travel. Its responsibilities,
in respect to the aforementioned EU Directive are as follows:
THIRD WAVE TRAVEL organises Travel Packages which may be considered as “Organised
Travel” as specified by EU Directive 90/134 and Presidential Decree No 339
of the Hellenic Republic.
THIRD WAVE TRAVEL uses transport companies, hotels and other establishments
which are not under its direct control and therefore cannot be considered
responsible for their correct operation. Its role is to act as an intermediate
in order to secure services for its clients and therefore its responsibilities
are restricted only to instances of ommissions and organizational deficiencies.
THIRD WAVE TRAVEL is responsible to ensure that a Travel Package is supplied
as described and that all offered services are provided at a proper standard.
However, THIRD WAVE TRAVEL shall not be liable for the failure to provide
these services or for the improper standards of these services, whenever such
failure or improper standards are attributable to unforeseeable or unavoidable
actions of a third party or to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond
control, such as Force Majeure.
THIRD WAVE TRAVEL’s obligations and responsibilities shall also be limited
where international conventions in respect of air, sea or land carriers apply.
THIRD WAVE TRAVEL shall, however, provide assistance and find appropriate
solutions whenever such problems occur.
